Simpson Lake

    Has anyone tried for cats in Simpson lake ( Valley Park ) I know you can put a boat in but trolling motor only. Seems like it might be a good one to drift.

    I fished there a couple of times. Never caught anything. It is a real nice lake though. A nice ramp as well. You should give it a try.

    i fished it quite a bit last year.. only once this year. It is pretty shallow but i have caught some decent cats out of there. My fishing buddy had "walter" snap his line on two different occasions... So give it a try, i think you may do pretty well. great crappie fishing in the spring/summer as well.

    "Walter" may of been a big spoonbill, when I fished that lake last fall I seen quite a few of them surfacing in that lake and my daughter caught one. Nice little lake that I really need to get back out on.

    I've never fished anything attached to the meramec river, but from what i have heard there arent many catfish in there...
