Is there a difference in shrimp that you use for channels that seem to work better than others??? I have had better luck using tiger shrimp than other types. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me. :confused2:

I have not noted a difference but would suggest using garlic on the shrimp. Put in ziplock bag for a couple days, then use.

I use vanilla extract on my shrimp. It seems to work pretty well.

I still have not used shrimp as bait. I keep coating them in Al Fredo sauce and eating them!:smile2:

i think tiger shrimp are freshwater prawns and since most bodies of water here have prawns they should work better than saltwater shrimp.

I never thought about different types of shrimp. Thats a great question. I know I have better luck with crawfish than shrimp and their basically the same thing. So stands to reason that there may be a better type of shrimp.

Ive heard of people putting them in a plastic bag with strawberry jello mix. They say it works pretty good, but Ive never actually tried it myself. I do know that tiger shrip is pretty versatile, just about everything will bite on it depending on your presentation. (bobber or bottom.)

I also agree with the alfrado guys, also like them with old bay seasoning.
I've purchased shrimp several times to use as bait but only once did they make it out to the lake with me. As far as the different types being better , that i do not know.

They're not nearly the same down here in Louisiana. I'll take a pot of crawfish over shrimp anyday!
