Here's a picture of my jugs.I have a weight inside of them so when a fish bites the weight will fall to the bottom of the jug and keep it upright so you know to check for fish or bait...

I'm still using the 3 liter pepsi bottles with the inside painted white you can see them from a long distance off. I run about a 6 foot drop rigged on a 3-way swivel with the 5 oz. bell sinker on about a 12 to 15 inch drop and the 7/0 kahle on a 4 to 6 inch drop. When not in use you can wind your line up around the neck of the bottle and drop the 5 oz. bell - hook - and 3-way inside the bottle then screw the cap back on. They have worked really well for me the 3-liters seem to have enough boyancy to give a good hook set when the fish hits.
I like the looks of both of the posted jugs looks like they would work really well. Thanks for sharing I'm always on the watch for a nice looking set of jugs:big_smile: :embarassed: .

James, you and Buddy both did a real nice job on your jugs. I also guess that my age is showing. First thing I thought of when I saw the thread was catfishing! I'm in the same boat as Rob. My jugs are very simple, noodle, line and hook. I have some literal jugs that are just as simple. I'm always looking for improvements and think that I saw some new ideas to try here. Thanks for a good thread.

Now I know why, when I go to Louisiana, there are never any pool noodles at Wally World.

Hey Gents, I was over at Walmart Wednesday and they had there noodles on clearance of 50 cents and they had a good supply of them. I don't know what they normally cost but I thought .50 looked pretty good so ya'll keep your eye out they may be doing it all over.

when i was a teenager and didnt know better aka shoulda read the regs. I used to use a big gatorade bottle with 50 # test tyied to it with a since and treble. when I'd see it bobbing around or moving into the wind instead of with it, then I'd paddle my inflatable raft over and pull it in. and yes, catfish spines and inflatable rafts dont mix well as I found out the hard way.
