got a good hog yesterday afternoon. his shields were an inch thick. his tusks weren't huge, but extremely sharp. skinned the head out for my buddy travis. he's going to boil it in a turkey fryer for a skull mount. shot the hog at 130 yards with my .30-06, with 165 grain sierra pro hunters. those are great bullets, and not expensive. i hit him at a dead run and smacked him flat. the bullet severed the valves above the heart and destroyed a lung. he went down squealing and spraying, it was awesome. i have the meat chilling on ice with vinegar and water. glad to put some meat in the freezer. thanks for reading.
