Did a short run on the Delaware river several miles above Perry last week. Not much water even for the Kayak. I ended up walking and pulling the boat half of the time. Did find a couple of holes around 6' deep and caught some small ones on fresh cut shad.
It reminded me of the Arkansas out west. Lots of big sand bars and shallow water. I think I will try it a little farther down stream next week.

That must have been really shallow. Do you know how deep your draft is on your mighty yak? I think mine is about 4 inches with just me and no gear.

Sounds like a rough stretch of water, but it should be easy to locate the holes

mine is about the same but it is hard as hell to paddle upstream in 6-8" of water. Just no water to paddle in. was not much problem coming back.
