Shiners are excellent Striper bait either alive or as cut bait soaked on the bottom. Drift over and around humps in a lake that contains Stripers and you will be on your way to catching one.

shiners will work one big advantage over other live bait is there easy to keep alive, try the main baitfish of the lake you fish, blueback herring, threadfin and gizzard shad also work well, also for big fish try rainbow trout bigger the better(8-14in) becareful on hartwell you need a receipt for the trout from a bait shop, good luck:smile2:

Lucky craft pointers and staysee's are candy to a striper. There 13 bux a pop so use good line and keep him steered out of the timber.

I use shiner and have caught several different species using them. To me they are a neutral bait to catch anything.

stripers will pound shiners, the bigger the better.
