i was a diehard abu man since as far back as i can remember. i swore by these reels but several years back my papaw started selling and repairing new and used reels and i bought a few 6500 ambassaduers from him. well a few months went by and i stopped at his place to see what he had and he wanted me to check out a shimano corsair. i admit i was quite hesitant at the time but i gave it a shot. well, to make a long story short, i now own 4 corsairs and 0 abu garcias. there is just no comparison in durability, castability and dependability. it is the most forgiving baitcast reel by far that i have ever used. i can freespool cast these babies a country mile. awesome reels. do yourselves a favor and check one out.

I HAVE BOTH AND PREFER THE ABU. I GOT THE CORSAIR WHEN THEY FIRST CAME OUT, I HAVE THE SILVER ONE. I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE ONE WAY BEARING BECAUSE IT STARTED SLIPPING. OTHER THAN THAT NO PROBLEMS. I CAN CAST FARTHER WITH THE 6500.
