Would the Calcuttas be a decent reel for Catfishing? Ive recently switched over from bass fishing and most of my reels are Calcutta's. Would they be stout enough to handle a big cat?

Shimano Calcutta is a very high quality reel and very pricey as well. I use a Okuma idx 400 which is basically the same quality reel at less than half the price. I don't know which Calcutta you are using, but I would recommend the Calcutta 400.

I have a calcutta 400 and love it. Compared to my abu 6500's it feels more solid and better constructed. I havent caught a monster on it yet but am confiedent it will hold up.
