    Hey Gang,
I have two question to ask today about Shimano Baitrunners Spinning Reels
(& I know that this is the place to get those question answered).

    1 Question:
Do anyone out there own one of these Baitrunners Spinning Reels (3500, 4500, or 6500)?
    And
    The 2 Question is :
When playing a big fish on one - where is the "Fighting Drag" on the reel located?

And the reason that I'm asking these question is I own the reel in the 4500 & 6500 model, but I would like to get the New
    Shimano Baitrunner 8000D :0a23:
for a Christmas Gift & I wanted to a head start asking (Begging :cross:) the Wife & Daughter about it now.
    lol

So any Help on the reel & stories on fishing with the Baitrunner, will be :0a31:.

You guys take care & have a bless day,
    Bert (Shania :0010:)

    bert,
i own all of them in "A" models and "B" models and they are great reels.

they have 2 drags the baitrunner is the rear drag and the fighting drag is the front. i haven't seen one yet but it sounds like the 8000D would fill the gap between a 4500 and a 6500 which was the thunnus 6000f but at 230 dollars retail they weren't moving many of them. great reel for offshore and surf but too expensive for catfishing.

    Thanks Mark,
That was the same thing that I was thinking of (about the reel filling the gap between a 4500 and a 6500).

I wanted it the next time that I go down to the Colorado River in Blythe, Ca to Dance with those Flatheads there.

I have owned 8 3500B's and a 4500B for about 7 yrs now and swear by them. My line choice is 30lb fireline to sling it out there. Going to try power pro braid since I've heard great reviews with it. Only problem I had is I broke 2 handles at the shear pin setting the hook. They can keep those back lashing winches.
