sharpening circle hooks?

    how do you guys sharpen circle hooks?and what do you use? a file? a stone? thanks in advance for the info.

    i dont, there already sharp, but im not a beleiver in circal hooks , they work for alot of people but for some odd reoson they dont self hook for me, i know all about them

    I sharpen every large hook I use.I use a 3 inch stone.You have to sharpen away from the point,go towards the bend.You only have to hit 3 sides to get a good point.The easiest are the two sides and then the outside.I keep a hook file but I don,t use it that much,usually only on really big hooks-over 10/0.:wink:

    The file on my basic Leatherman tool has saved me a couple times hook-sharpening-wise.

    Most multi tools have some kind of file on them.
