Shakespear Tidewater reel???

    aint nuthin wrong with those reels Mike. i got two. hell of a wench. u could pull the engine out a ford in a thirty foot hole with that reel...ok thats strechin it, but its a good reel anyway.

    Mike, I have had one for several years and I have not had any trouble with it.
    It is a great casting reel.

    I've got two of them. I use them on 8' Hvy action rods on my boat with live bait. So far they work good.

    I have one the tide water 30,I love it,plenty of power,casts good,an holds lots of line.

    mike i bought my first about three months ago and it casts great. i will probably buy another when i can afford it. got mine at walmart for around 40 bucks total.

    I saw a guy using one of those striper fishing from shore a couple months ago. He could really sling it out there with a 2 oz jig.

    I agree, you can make a hell of a cast with that reel.

    Since the question asked for our opinion.....Here's mine.........For fresh water thay are O.K. but oddly enough they were designed to be a "entry level" saltwater reel; which is where they fail miserably:eek:oooh::eek:oooh:. Since the baitshop I work @ is a saltwater store, we won't even sell them there:wink:

    I have two of the reels. I have caught big blues out of the Mo river up to 50 lbs with them. Have had them for about three years with no problems and would not hesitate to buy them again. I think they are a great reel.
