    Are most of yall catching your shad are you buying them.? What,s the going price for shad now? Thanks!

    I usually catch all mine. The ones that I have bought in the past was about $6 a dozen for threadfins. It's a little more expensive for gizzard shad.

    i buy my bait all the time expect if im using blue gill. the price on shad has really gone up where i get my bait

    I buy my bait. Preferably threadfin shad. Takes too long to try and catch bait. Time better spent fishing.

    I would advise catching your own. Find a good warm water outlet and you can catch a years worth in just a few minutes with a cast net.

    In the winter months I buy bait to get me started and catch some perch to fish with after that.

    During the warmer months I use a cast net to catch shad either at a local lake of the lake I'll be fishing.

    Shad die on me so fast I don't bother trying to keep them alive anymore.

    I catch all of mine dont know what they cost have never bough them.
