Lots of people here on the Tn. River use Shad Guts, and do real good with it.
How do you keep them on the hook ? and what type and style hooks do you use?
You can use just about any kind of hook it doesn't come off as easy as think.
ya'll talkin about shad gizzards?? or the intestines?
Why dont u just use to gut pocket with guts inside?
You can buy quart jars of guts or gizzards for about 6 to 8 dollars if cat get any live
Skipjack guts will work even better than shad guts. On the average, skipjack run larger than shad, so the gut is larger, too. Also, the intestine of a skipjack is extremely tough; even if some of the other guts fly off during casting, or wash off in the water, that intestine will stay on the hook.
