Was cuttin one of those american shad open today and saw that it had some roe in it... I threw some in a sack and tossed it out for fun and my bait got punched hard twice but it didnt run with it. Didn't manage to hook up but it was still exciting haha. Was wondering if it could have been a cat or maybe a carp? Anyone else used shad roe?

It could have been just about anything Justin. Almost every fish will eat another fishes roe. Roe in general is full of nutrients.

Were you slinging the roe in the river or in a lake?
