Do any of you guys have any experience keeping shad in a pond? I have one of those black plastic koi pond liners, and I was going to try my hand at raising a few shad in it, maybe they'd flourish and reproduce. What should I put in there for them to eat? Do they do better in a particular temperature range? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Don't know if that will work or not. I know U all have some pretty cold weather up that way.May kill them. I know around here ever spring we have what they call winter kill of Shad.Banks are full of dead Shad.Guess you could try it and see that happens.Be interesting to know results of it.

as far as food, you will need to produce algae and moss in the water for them to eat.
