http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/shadcam/ should be up and running anyday now. last year they had it up 3/12 but i guess the river is flooding so you wouldnt see much even if they had it up. for those that dont know what it is ill explain it since i had alot of questions last year. the shad cam is a camera at a fish ladder next to a dam. shad, lampreys, and eels all make there trip up river this time of year. the shad go up to spawn as well as the lampreys i believe. the eels live in the river but migrate across the ocean to spawn. well thsi camera take pictures ever 4 or 5 seconds and if your lucky your get a glimpse of a fish. carp, smallmouth, panfish, minnows, and catfish, and if your real lucky even gar with the shad, lampreys, and eels have all been seen. happy watching!
