Went to Knox Lake, north of Mt. Vernon, Oh. Set up to catfish, Got skunked by the way, and saw swirls in the water. They were all over the lake. Huge Schools of Huge Shad. Hundreds, 10 to 12 inches long. I forgot my castnet so my boy hooked about 6 of them. We brought them home and froze them. Anyone else seen anything like that. I though they were Carp.

Sounds like you had alot of bait for the pickens. Sucks that you got skunked, if you were like me you would be used to it, LMAO.

Went to Galion Resevoir last night and saw shad schooling along the bank. These were 3 to 4 inches. I threw the castnet a couple times and caught about 100 nice shad. We fished for a couple hours and caught 2 nice eating size Channel Cats. We gave some of the shad to others guys that were fishing and froze the rest for next time. Catfish Love them!!
