Went out tonight to my flathead spot and had been fishing for a bout 2 1/2 hours with only one small blue cat landed but a bunch of bites from small ones. Then I had a few tugs the first all night that was acting like a flathead. He then loaded up the pole and I set the hook. At first I though I had a 10# fish or so. He was coming to the boat with not much of a fight then he dove and started takin line. Then I realized I had a nicer fish but then he really started, guys no joke hands down this was the hardest fightin fish I have ever landed in my life. I thought I was hung a few times this fish took more line than I could imagine I thought I had at least a 60# fish if not bigger. This fish fought twice as hard as anything Ive ever caught. I had this fish on the line for no joke a half hour. Just to show you how small of world it is their was a guy drifting for blues around me for the last hour or so. So I yelled at him a couple hundred yards away that I had a nice one and he came over and we started talkin. Hes a BOC member and witnessed the battle for at least 15 minutes. It was screen name BillCatfish. He helped me weigh the fish and take some pictures. Thanks Bill. It was an awesome night and I also got to meet a BOC member. The fish weighed 43.90 on his coffee scales and 42 on my smaller digital scales. I went with the coffee scales. Second nice flathead in two days. Awesome week.
