    For some reason, I was compelled to open those pictures again. Poor fish.

    About 10-12 years ago, I caught my PB channel (not quite 18lbs) on the Horseshoe chain. When I pulled it in, its one eye was swollen up terribly bad (actually it was half its head around the eye) and the fish really stunk. I did the same thing with that fish, dropped it off with the DNR and they took it and ran some tests. All I could find wrong with the fish, other than the swollen eye, was a small scar right behind the swollen eye.

    Several days later, the DNR got back to me and told me the fish had gotten gangreene from whatever caused the scar. They then told me that about 1/3 of the fish was already effected by it.

    I guess without all the infection and puss, she might have only been 17. lol

    It is nice to know when you have questions that the DNR is there to help, some of the states I have been in would have laughed at my request.
