There was a thread a while back about those of us that like to stay rigged up and ready to go. We all have experienced that sinker floppin around and bangin into things. Not only while runnin in the boat but when ya have your rods stowed where ever ya may keep them. I keep mine hangin up in my truck rigged and ready to rock. The thread told of a hair clip found in any dime store that will solve the problem. I went out and got some a few weeks back and wanted to give em a good test before postin any comments on them. Well, They work like a champ and I would like to give a "BIG THANX" to the individual that set me off on this mission. LOL! Pictures are pretty much self explanatory.

That is a great idea. I don't even have to go to the store. I'll just take a few of the wifes. I don't think she will get to mad. At least when she is with me she can put her hair up once I get the line in the water. LOL!

What a great idea!!!! I always rush to rig up once I get to the fishin' hole. Now I'll be ready to go once I get there and not be so rushed.
Thanks for sharing this with us Big G.

Hey Big G. I went to wally world today and found a set of hair clips like the ones you gave the great tip on. The ones I wound up buying are called: Scunci no-slip grip all day hold
These have a covered hinge and rubber on the inside of the clip. I think this will help protect the rod from the clip and the part you squeeze to open the clip is a lil smaller too. I gave $2.25 for a pack of two.

Thanks again for such a good idea.

    great idea big g
i use ladies hair rubberband things they are like thick rubberbands
    that are in different colors.
i use them to hold 2 pc rods together also.
when i use a 3 way swivel set up i hook the hook through the braceing of the first eyelet on rod (largest near handle) and tighten the line with reel
till snug then use rubber band(hair type)to hold line tight at rod tip
then at the loose sinker end i will wrap the loose sinker end around the
butt end of rod till it is tite against the shaft then i wrap another rubber band around that end ,then loosen the drag to prevent wearing the drag out.
i get a whole bag of those rubber bands for a couple bucks and keep a lot of extras in the bottom of a tackle bag and some in the truck and boat.
