I can't believe it, but I scored another Whopper last night! This one was 53lbs. It fought much harder than the one last weekend. I also caught a couple of 3lb channels and an 8lb blue. So far, my hookset percentage since switching to King Kahles is 100%.

    Here are the pics:

I caught it on a 9/0 King Kahe and 5" bluegill. The rod/reel was an 8' glowstick and an Ambassaduer 7000C3 with 30lb test Big Game. The one last week was with a 9' glowstick and the backbone between the 8 and 9 footer is quite noticeable. A really had to take my time and wear him down. I don't think I would want to tie into a 70+ with the 8' Glowstick though, so I ordered another 9 footer. I am replacing the 30lb Big Game with 40lb too. There is a noticeable difference between the two as well. I can't tell the difference in casting when launching the bluegill with 30 or 40lb test, so I'm moving up to be safe. I'm after that 77lb state record now!:smile2:

I should say that I don't expect this to happen every weekend. In fact, I just would like to catch another by the end of the summer. I have only been fishing for Flats for a few months. I did alot of reading and the difference between now and last year is I'm fishing in fallen timber and I pay attention to where the couple of proven Flat fishermen go. I am proud of myself for this last catch because I chose the location for this night on my own based on structure. I had not seen another Flat fisherman in this location, but it looked good based on what I have read and it paid off.

YOU BASTARD! Cut that out lol. I've pulled in 5 flat this week but I can't get them over 20 pds.... It's pretty frustrating. One of these nights I'm going to hook into one and he's gonna scare the crap out of me lol.
