Scour holes

    Here is a one of many spots on the Missouri that I fished unsuccessfully 2 weeks ago. I don't think it's a bad spot. The river is way down. The hole in this pic is 23' deep. Wish I had a fish to show for it cause the weather was miserable.

    here on the ohio river we have to fish the natural dikes that is where creeks have washed gravel out or rock bars protrude out in the river these cause eddies to form and the center of those eddies run alot deeper than the channel in most cases they make good holding spots for fish

    damn, thats a river here we dont have lakes that wide! water get'in scarce around here.

    I feel ya. Water is scarce here too. Last time I was at the river 3 weeks ago, it was 8' down from the previous month. It was low then too. The deepest water we found was 24'. Most of the river was 8-12'.
