Obviously the flatheads are biting. January in Philadelphia certainly doesn't mean the fish quit biting. Got this one at Fairmount Dam.

Hey Blackie nice going with the Stripper, Like I alway's say keep your line wet and you'll catch fish. I've been away from the Stripper fishin for about 7 year's now, is there still a closed season on them at this time of year?

It's shad time. Been out on the river last few evenings. All hickory shads. no Americans yet. Really fun on light tackle.

First flathead trip of the year. Caught 3 small boys 2, 4, and 5lbs. All fish on cut bluegills. THEY HAVE AWOKEN here on the Skuke!

Blacky - Do you happen to know what the water temp. was when you got those 1st Flatties of the year. The water temp. on the Allegheny River was 47* this past Sunday evening. I'm trying to determine the temp. at which our Pa. Flatties "wake up"!

Good to see the flatheads biting. Got two nice ones this week 16 and 18 pounds one on live gill and one on a big live sucker.
