My cousin is trying to get me to drive down to Santee to fish with him this weekend and I haven't seen many reports from the canal/Moultrie. Just wondering how the bite has been lately and how you guys might go about fishin this time of year.

Thanks!

Was there last week. Only caught a handfull (7) in the canal in 2 days. Don't let this discourage you though...a lot of people were doing really well (30-50 each day). I guess that's fishing...some people catching them and other not!

IMO, drifting early and late are hard to beat this time of year. I find that the correct depth is the key. Don't keep doing something that aint working over and over. (like drifting aimlessly for miles with out a bite) Keep changing until a pattern emerges. Different baits, different presentations, even hook styles, line weights and cork colors can be keys. What worked yesterday may not work today. My main thing is to not quit.

I hope cork colors don't matter to much. Someone stole my tackle box and i had to go get some new corks and stuff. All the guy had was hot pink, i got a bag but haven't tried them yet. They may be the ticket
