We just got back from a fishing trip on Lake Marion Thursday.

Overall we boated 134 LBS of blues in 8 hours drifting over the old river bed in about 12 to 14 ft of water. The afternoon before a series of severe thunderstorms racked the area with 70 MPH++ winds that turned the lake over pretty well. A lot of snails and moss was floating on Thursday.
We got on the lake about 6:00 AM and fished until around 2:00 PM. We were drifting (when we had the breeze) with bottom rigs using cut herring. The bite was off but we still managed to put one in the boat at 35 lbs. The rest averaged around 7 to 14 lbs with one channel cat and a big gar.
We had a great time and plan to go back soon.

Was that the upper, middle, or lower part of the lake, if you don't mind telling? We have been doing pretty good on the lower part the past few weeks.
