    TWO NIGHTS BEFORE X-MAS

    It was Two nights before X-mas,
    and all through the creek;

    Not a creature was stirring,
    Not even a leach;

    The rods were all strung with Stren with Care,
    In hopes that Mr. Wiskers soon would be there;

    The Catfish were nestled all snug in there beds,
    While visions of Shad danced in their heads;

    Santa with his Jon Boat and six rods all packed,
    launched a #8 Gamagatsu with a piece of Shad attached;

    When out on the River there rose such a clatter,
    He sprung from his cooler to see what was the matter;

    Away to #3 rod he flew like a dash,
    Took the rod from the holder in one steady flash;

    The moon on the water gave him a good show,
    The Swirl was enormous and the ripples did glow;

    When what to his wondering eyes did appear,
    A huge Blue Catfish, to the boat he did stear;

    He had an elf net it and hold it high for all to see,
    Then he gently unhooked it and let it swim free;

    Wiped his hands on a red towel and opened a beer,
    In his eye you could see the beginning of a tear;

    At the Ramp was his trailer attached to eight tiny Deer,
    He had to quit fishing, delivery time was near;

    But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
    "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night."
