My wife and I are going move to the Lufkin -Nacogdoches area and it looks like the only places to fish are a river and sam rayburn.
If anyone knows a better place to catch Flathead I would love to know
    about them.
    Thanks

Welcome to the board and to TX :) :0a25:

I haven't fished either of those but bet someone here can help. Been meaning to ask here... does anyone know if that Salvinia problem on Toledo Bend ever cleared up? Heard it was pretty bad a couple of years back.

I lived in Huntington for a while and fished Rayburn and the Angelina. Theres alot better fishing imo but you have to travel a little farther. Some places that come to mind are:
    Sabine River
    Lake Livingston
    Caddo Lake
    Trinity River

Haven't made it to Caddo this trip in but the last time I was there it looks like a losing battle. Found me some pretty good fishin holes on Lake of the Pines I been going to pretty regular. Going to chum up a hole and take them grandkids and let them get in on the action.

Welcome Rex! Sam Rayburn is real good fishing. The last six weeks the catfishing has been excellent. I think it is slowing down now but they are still bitting. Lots of big Ops in that lake. The river is great fishing along with a lot of other places close to Nacogdoches. Good luck.
