I fished the Saluda near Ware Shoals this morning. We caught 5 channels, the biggest one weighed 5 lbs, no monsters, but it was still fun.

    Good stuff!

Are you going to be around Ware Shoals for the "Catfish Feastival"?

Are you having them for supper tonight?? Nothing better than fried channels!

I don't CPR eating size channels.

Oh yeah, they made a wonderful meal with baked beans and cole slaw.

It's tonight through Saturday night. I think the Catfish parade is Saturday, but I don't know what time.

Nate - do you fish from a boat, and if so where do you launch from?

I have never fished that part of the river in a boat, but if I knew where to put in at, I would try it. I also know that you have to be very careful, because of all the rocks and shoals. I usually just fish from the bank right below the shoals, but it is a real work out just to get down there and back out. It's the closest thing to mountain climbing I have ever done. All in all it is usually worth it, we have caught some really nice cats down there.
