HAs anyone ever use frozen mullet of squid to fish for the cats. I've got some finger mullet and squid in the freezer and thought about giving it a try

I have used squid on many occasions. After surf fishing,I take home whatever is not used and cut them into small chunks.I fill a quart jar with a mixture of Bunker Oil (menhadden fish oil) salt, garlic oil.Puth the squid in and then put a layer of salt on top. This will keep for quite a while because of the salt. The oil will dissperse in the water and act as an attractant.

I've used mullet, it worked ok. Used squid but didnt get anything. If you ever go saltwater fishing and get some spanish mackeral or blue fish than save them because they are awesome bait for big cats. And as capt. Kirk said dont forget eels.

Hope this helps, good luck :)

I've tried squid in freshwater, and didn't do very well with it.
