Well my friends, it has been a rough day here in northeastern Indiana. I had to put down my dog today. Ruby has been with my wife & I since we were first married 11 1/2 years ago. I can't believe she's gone. She was our only "kid" for over 7 years; traveled from Virginia, to Pennsylvania, to Kansas, to Massachusetts, to Pennsylvania, and then to Indiana with us. She's been with us through thick & thin. Ol' Ruby was a stick-fetchin', frisbee-catchin', goose-chasin' fool! Truly man's best friend! We're gonna' miss her dearly. :crying:

Sorry to hear that brother. Sometimes nothing beats a good friend and there has never been a better friend than a man and his dog.

I am sorry for your loss Matt. I know how you feel Brother!!! I lost the best dog I have ever had about four years ago and still miss her today!!! We didn't name her because every time we named an outside dog something would happen to them. Below is a pics of her!

Been there and done that, I know it's very hard I have a couple dogs now that I am as close to as any human.

Well hey there brother, I know that this sorta stuff smarts. We all probably have a good ole dawg in our histories. Sometimes man's best friend is better cause they know where the loyalty should lie and they know when to shut up and how to clean a plate n'matter how bad yer cooking gets.

From one who understands the profound loss to another, my best to you.

myself, my wife, and our pooch Bella wish you the best in handling the loss.
Below is a picture of our dog in her affection-hound pose, begging for love.

    many brighter days ahead.

    sal

Matt, I feel the loss of your buddy and completely understand.

I lost my dog a few years back, a new dog, can fill a void, but never replace the one you had.

Matt sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. I remember losing "Pepper" when I was 14. Mom and dad got the gift for me for my 1st birthday. Pets are more like family then your family sometimes.

Thanks for the words of support. I was sure that most of my brothers here could relate to the loss of a good furry friend.

I just received this from my sister-in-law: Ruby's last picture.

Oh man.....sorry to hear that brother. :crying:  I can relate, I think almost all of us can relate to that. Well just try to remember all the good times you had with your "Best friend". It's always hard to lose a pet, lost one a few years ago that I had since I was a baby. Kind of like a sister to me.

    Take it easy, Zakk.

Matt, give it time Bro, and ya'll find another good one. I had to put down the best dog ever (IMO) about 9 years ago. Man did that suck ! Brings a weak spot back to the top thinkin' about her. However, my uncle gave my a new Best friend, and I can tell ya, J. D. is one hell of a buddy. I wouldn't take nothin' for him.

Sorry to hear about your loss Bro, my heart goes out to ya.

Matt, i feel your pain. I lost one a couple years back that almost never parted from me. She went everywhere. It weird how they are almost like children.

Out of all the bad i still have her with me (in mind) and now we have sister. We named her as kalis sister. She goes everywhere, whether it be bps, macks, New Orleans, Memphis i mean everywhere. The best way we found to move on is jump right in there and get another one. Heres sister.

matt i hate hearing about your loss
and although havent had one of ours pass from age yet
ive had the heartbreak of holding 2 in their last moments of life
one from me backing over it while it slept behind my truck tire (puppy)
and one from distemper 1 year old.
it is very hard and i feel for ya take BGTOP's advice wait a spell
    and get another one.
we have an old boston 11 years he has 3 teeth left in his poor ole head
he has cataracts and a bit of arthritis but we love him just the same
hes been a very good dog and is a great foot warmer LOL
he will curl up next to you on couch or bed and is very easy to take care of
i would venture to say hes been the best dog ive been around .
weve had him since he was 6 weeks old and seen him the day he was born
so we are very attatched to old moe .
i know his day will come too soon and it will be very hard on our boys especially.
with love comes heartbreak, its inevitable.
a dog is more than mans best friend they are relentless in their eagerness
to please and will contently stay by your side no matter how bad of a day
youve had or how sick you are.
hope you find another like her.
