This is the law: The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible
victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield and skill is
more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is
    supplemental.

As John Steinbeck once said: Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is
too old to fight, he'll just kill you.

-- If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics stink.

-- I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy.

-- America is not at war. The U.S. Military is at war. America is at the
    Mall.

-- When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away. (So, shoot first then
    call 911)

-- A reporter did a human interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter
recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him "Why do
you carry a 45?" The Ranger responded with, "Because they don't make a 50."

-- An armed man will kill an unarmed man with monotonous regularity.

-- The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on
his wearing his sidearm. "Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you
expecting trouble?" "NO Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have
    brought my rifle."

-- Beware the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!

-- A man was once asked by a lady visiting if he had a gun in the house. To
which he said that he did. She said "well I certainly hope it isn't loaded!"
To which he said, "of course it is loaded." She then asked, "Are you that
afraid of someone evil coming into your house?" His reply was, "No not at
all. I am not afraid of the house catching afire either, but I have fire
extinguishers around, and THEY ARE ALL LOADED."

Those are some good ones..thanks for sharing. I keep all my guns loaded. An empty gun is of no use at all. Please call before you come over to the house.

I agree whole heartedly. The only problem, in Arkansas, and I can't believe it, they don't have a self defense law. And- in our county and city we have less and less police officers.

Really makes my blood boil to think about it. Guy breaks into your house obviously breaking the law you shoot him and you go to jail. Our laws and lawmakers just don't make any sense. More and more they are protecting the crimianl and not the law abiding citizen.

Kevin, When the concealed weapon permit law came into effect some of that changed. If you are in eminate danger you have the right to protect your self. But you better make sure you are in danger before you shoot. So I've been told. When you get a concealed weapons permit thay will let you know when you can shoot and when you can't. I havn't had a chance to get a permit yet. So in the meen time i'll use my gut instinct when to shoot.

well i cant keep mine loaded cause of kids. but there close and i know were the shells are and it wouldnt take me 10 seconds to load. so they better get the door open on the first kick. but the lab and pit bull usually wakes me way before anyone gets to the door, lol. and as far as the self defense law. ill dispose of any would be intruders on my own terms. if no one hears ill be back asleep in 30 min. not sure if balistics can track smooth bore shotguns.:confused2:
