Has anyone ever caught these in your cast net?

I was using my 3 ft castnet that has 1/4 mash in the ohio river and hit a whole school of minnows about 3-5 inches in length and I was wondering if this is what they were. They had a blueish color with that red around there gill plates. I used them two at a time and could only use one pole at a time cause every kind of fish in the river must love these things. I caught Channels, Blues, Drum, White bass, and a 20" hybrid stripe finally ran out of themand went back to shad. I caught a couple more fish but nothing like with the blue minnows.

I used to catch those in a small river, and use them for crappie.
You are right seems everything likes them.
