so we're gona hit the rodman dam tonite , we went a few weeks ago and caught 1 channel cat that my shad was bigger then ... hth does that happen, ok so we tryed all the current breaks we could cast to wile at the discharge side water flows out and into a river , but befor it reaches the dam it flows from a lake we focused on the discharge /river side and tryed all over calm water fast water white water no luck , so here is what i was thinking..

all around the lake side of the dam there are log jams every where leading up to the fence that blocks the inlet of the dam where the lake spills in to the dam with a strong current leading to the dam ,,,, the question i have is would yall fish the lake side of the dam targeting all the log jams very shallow water here but at nite time i don't think that matters to a cat fish...

also we could target the outer edges of the current leading to the dam and the few logs that are stuck there ...

no a alot of dam fishing experience LOL that just sounds funny 'i have not fished dams alot in my life' any info would be great we were using fresh frozen shad and fresh river caught blue gills , the rigs were carolina and 3 way swivel ty guys

also after tons of researching they say the bigger cats will be on the discharge side or after the water passes threw the dam ..... but we fished all over the place and no luck.....

Matt i,m still trying to learn myself ,but the area,s you talked about sounds like you need to try them some more before giving up on them ,the night you where their the fish might just not of been biting . I would try those spots a few more times before i wrote them off the list ,just my thoughts .
