My little Buba won one from the BOC and I sure like it!! Have never put it to too much of a BIG test, but seems real smooth to me.

    beaneye46,

We actually awarded about a dozen of these reels in online contest in the past. A quick recall of the results was:

1 -One member broke the handle in practice, "Yard" reeling

1- One member stripped the gears

1- One member stripped the gears

9 were happy with the results

I would venture to say, for the money, they would make a fine general purpose light fishing reel. I watched with my own eyes a member burn one up with a cast, of course all reel specifications were being exceeded.

If you need a general purpose light duty reel, you cant go wrong for what they go for. For the majority, they worked well.
