I just got a new 8ft rod and can't find a safe way to haul it on long tips. Does anyone got any ideals?

PVC pipe with end caps should protect it.

i have a toyota tacoma . i built myself an overhead rack to haul my canoe on. it works great to haul my catfish rods on also . i just use some boat carpet pading and bungee cord my rods to the rack. i also have a rod carrier by flamebeua called a bazooka that i like very much. the rod holed is expandable for different rod lengths. i bungee cord it to my rack also. hope this helps.

Just go ahead and shut the door on the last 8 to 12 inches and the problem will be solved. LOL. Thats the way Poision Pits handled the identical problem. ROTFLMAO

Yup, and you don't need the Schedule 40 stuff, which is heavy and spendy...the lightweight sewer and drain (sdr) stuff is just fine for rods.
