I was flipping between the MLB game (go Tigers!) and the Red Wings (Go Wings!) game last night an somewhere in there I turned on "Dancing With the Stars" during a commercial break. Next thing I know, ole Rod Stewart is dancing and parading (and I use the term loosely) around a stage with two 20-something girls in hotpants singing his old tune, "Hot Legs".

Now Im a fan of Rod Stewart, but really.... Does this fellow know how old he is? You know you're getting old when your idea of dancing is wagging your finger at shoulder height as you walk back and forth. The finger wag is definately an AARP-certified dance move, that was last seen perfomed as a dance-option by flapper girls in a Speakeasy! ROTFL

So without further explanation needed, I have decided that Rod Stewart's song needed to be more apropriate for his age.

If ya know, "Hot Legs", then sing along....

Who's that knocking on my door
It's gotta be a quarter to four
And Im late for samples at the grocery store
Well you can love me tonight if you want
But all of my blue pills are gone
    I'm talkin' to you
Hot legs, I'm in diabetic socks
Hot legs, oldest on the block
Hot legs, Im too old to rock
    I love you honey

Got the most impressive golf cart
And I invest in efferdent and art
    But what you don't understand
    Is I'm an AARP man
Gonna need a shot of cortizone
And a bed for my busted hip bone
    I'm talking to you
Hot legs, my options are gone
Hot legs, get them kids off my lawn
Hot legs, dont break me in two!
    I love you honey

    Imagine how this granddad felt
    needing a back supporting belt
    You're 19 but look 25
Im 67 and happy to be alive

You got legs taller than my walker
You're making me a baby crib stalker
    I'm talking to you
Hot legs, I have orthopedic shoes
Hot legs, Im singing viagra blues
Hot legs, be lucky I dont drool
    I love you honey

    Hot legs, making me cry
Hot legs, hope my diaper's dry
Hot legs, keep your hands on my arm
    Dont let me fall now!
Hot legs, you're wearing me out
Hot legs, careful, I got the gout!
Hot legs, Aint this grandpa cool?
    I love you honey

    Sal,

Now that's funny! but appropriately so...........course maybe he is only as young as he "feels"......LOL.

The song was a hoot. Thanks for sharing.:cool2:

    Take care.

Is that the one that comes with a patterned vest, a pipe, sock-garters, and a tin of Dapper Dan?

Or is that dance move kit the one that includes the CD of Spike Jones's version of "You Always Hurt the One You Love" with Boris Karloff, and "Pass the Biscuits Mirandy".
    ROTFL

Oh Sal, I am ROTFLOL!!! I didn't see this until today. As another writer of alternative (humorous) lyrics for well-known tunes, this was very much appreciated by me. Hey, I'd love to see you perform this one as part of your comedy routine, bro, and don't forget the finger wag. Keep up the good work!

    Tanya,

I can't believe you missed this! LOL. I starred it a few days back for it's humor.

    Sal,

I turned on an old Bette Davis black and white movie today to catch glimpes of as I wandered the house. One commercial was of him and I just hee hawed and left the room. Reminded me of the guy at work that has made a sobriety and anti drug CD. He got a call from Nashville about it and he told them he was too old to be a rock star. LMAO. I told him, if Rod can do it, you can. Rod is about 8 years older than you. LOL.

    Thanks for a smile today.

    Take care.
