A two dollar and fifty cent rod saver that a man showed me is dead now and i miss him dearly
sorry to here about your friend but that rod saver is a pretty good idea
There the best they have saved me lots of money
Prayers and thoughts sent to the family
I used to buy the Blakemore rod floats, they work well. But now, I just use some pipe insulation, works just as well and is cheaper. I've also slipped pieces of pool noodle onto the handles of spinning rods, it'll work but is somewhat cumbersome.
I like the idea. I have used the saftey pin stringers in the past. I get the cheap ones with 4 or 5 snaps for under a dollar, then remove the snapsin the middle leaving the end one forthe pole and boat. the others i use like you do. I think yours would be easier to remove, for the fight.
Cheapest solutions are usually the best when it comes to fishing. Thanks for the great idea, now I know what to use.
Don prayer for your friend and his families loss.
