Does anybody know someone in the Cedar rapids or iowa city area that does rod repair? I have 2 rods that the second to last eyelet have broken on.

They are not hard to replace I have been doing it for years. I need to replace the rod tip on my son's pole too. Go to YouTube and look it up it is really easy to do. I pick up a lot of broken rod that I find. And old rod that broke on me for eyes and tips.

It is really easy.. YouTube video. Replacement eye. I keep old broken rods in the corner for parts. Razor knife. Needle nose , Thread. Two part epoxy. Lighter. You can get fancy but I don’t, if it’s a two foot eye I only cut the thread on one side. Towards the butt. Pull the bad eye out, stick the new eye in. Wrap the foot with thread. Cover with epoxy. Heat slightly. Keep spinning rod and blow on epoxy till it get firm. Your done. On single foot eyes pull old eye out of thread. Make sure new one fits in the hole left. Add a little epoxy to the foot, push in . Let dry. Easy!
