rod building

    I'm just wondering how may rod builder are here? I just finished my first rod.

    I just got started. I built a wrapping jig and drying motor stand. I have been practicing wrapping on old rods waiting for the stuff I orderd to show up.

    I started a new rod for my wife, 6'6" heavy.

    Where do you guys get your supply's? I used Mud Hole for this rod. The only gripe I have is their shipping charges.

    I quit buildin when Herters sold out-Havent found a reason to look for another supplier I guess. to many good rods on the market cheap. And, I can't see to good anymore. Do it while you can tho because it's always in you memory. Such as _I know how to do that!

    I understand that! I had to get a magnifying rig like what jewelers and engravers wear along with my reading glasses!

    I just started building rods in January,Have finished 3 so far and working on my own personal rods right now.

    This Rod is on the drier now.

    gusa B85 blank,cobalt blue.mega-mag Hvy,
    ATC holo casting guides, with center inlay and 2 outer inlays of 7 colors.with over-wrap of trimar RW-Blue/Gold #245G

    Nice job Kenny. I like the colors in it.
    Bill is going to be making a rod for me as soon as the parts come in.
    He really does a nice job. I'll post pics of it when it's done. :wink:
