Tanner if they are getting the rain that we are supposed to get, then it will be rising and muddy. Probably be a channel cat tournament with the winner getting lucky and finding a kicker flathead. Like last year. Just my guess though!

Good luck to everyone!

Ive been wanting to ask some locals this for a while now. I live in Elgin, Il and the Rock river is only about 1/2 hour from me. I was wondering if that train spill in Rockford last year had any effect on the Flatheads there?

Thank you for the report. Ive been thinking about making a trip the the Rock River for some time now. I am currently "boatless" so i will need to find a decent bank spot. There are usually some good spots to be found in parks but after the sun goes down, it can be difficult because the police usually kick you out. I prefer fishing at night for bigger Flatheads. I know they can be caught in the day, but there is just something about sitting by a river at night that stirs the soul for me.
