Does anybody know the closet place to put in to Indian Island?

I fished it several years ago and althought we didn't catch anything it was the biggest deepest hole I'd seen in a small river. We had to put in too far away from the hole last time.

    Thanks,

A few years ago I launched at Prophetstown and Erie, and looks like P-town is the closer access point.

I didn't run downstream to the island, but I know a little ways downstream of the IL-78 bridge is an old railroad grade. If you look at a satellite image, you can't miss it. It's shallow and rocky right there....the island you're talking about is downstream just a bit farther.

The iFishillinois website has a pdf version of the Rock River fishing guide. There's not a lot of good info in there, but it does have a listing of campgrounds and access area on the river.
