Hi Guys,

Im heading back out to the Oregon Dam area on Thursday night to target flathead. I have a 6' med-heavy muskie rod rated to 25lb line and an Okuma med sized saltwater trolling reel spooled with 30lb line. On the business end Ill have a railroad tie sinker and heavy mono leader going to a 8/0 circle hook. I got some live bullheads with the biggest around 7in long but time left to get some bigger ones. If anyone knows any ponds around the Des Plaines area where I could stock up on bullheads that would be great. My casting distance will be limited but what kind of water pattern should I be targeting? Im planning on being in the public access areas down river of the dam. Am I on the right track?

Sounds like you have the equipment squared away, lets us know how you do, I get down to Oregon every now and then.

they love those bullheads, when i shore fished i use to cast a large sinker by its self to look for deep holes, keep a eye out for structure​

Just giving you a heads up...They reinstated the VHS rule on not to transport fish from a different body of water.
