if you are talking in town in vernon, the only good stretch of river i have found for cats is the kokosing behind the park off harcourt rd, its a hike back there but have caught a lot of nice channels in there, thats about the only deep spot in that stretch

Welcome aboard Mike. I have caught some nice channels six pounds and up behind Arch ave. Park. You can get good bait at Memorial park by up by the bridge. You can catch nice smallys walking up the creek starting at Tilden Ave. There are suckers and carp just about anywhere. If you want cats you will have to search out deep holes. The old wagon bridge below Gambier used to give up some. and the old Mill on up 229 if you can get in there used to have some nice flatheads.
