River tempurature for the mississippi river

    hey was wondering if there is any sites where you can find out temperatures at spots along the mississippi river

    try this site....http://water.usgs.gov/waterwatch/ you may have to search for a while to find a station that records the temps. theres only 1 on the river i fish that has a temp guage.

    Saw a formula for "estimating" the water temps. Not as accurate as a gage or course but I have used it and found it to come close enough for me.

    Average of the high temps and low temps for the previous three days will give the "estimate" of todays water temps. A quick drop in weather conditions such as a one day cold front moving through will throw this off some.

    Look in your local newspaper, The Quincy Herald Whig. It says the temp at Quincy Dam is about 37-38 degrees currentley.
