How much does the river going up affect the bluecat bite? I am still trying to learn river fishing but the weater is not helping here in Kansas. We are going to get 1-2 inches of rain tonight and I was going to go to the river in the morning. Will that completely shut down the fishing?

It has been my experience that the Blues bite good when the river first starts to come up. Typically a slow rise is better than a sudden rise. Your 1-2 inches of rain should not be much of a problem as long as there is not a ton of debris in the water. Be safe

I have found that a slow rise is a good thing when fishing for blues. It seems that they get more active as the water rises. Just my experience though.
