and or help in finding boat ramps for public fishing on the Kaw or other rivers in the area! I'm Ready to give them a try! Ive caught many channel trophies, and now need to go for the really big fellas... Blues and Flatties need some pointers!!!!:eek:oooh:

Try Kansas Dept. of Wildlife and Parks site for a listing of public boat ramps.
My favorite is actually on the Big Blue on Hwy 24 near Manhattan. But thats
just because I live close to it. A recent population study said that the highest
concentration of flatheads on the river was above Bowersock Dam near
Lawrence KS, but I've been told that's probably since its a little hard to
get to. You'll probably get a lot better information from folks a little further
    downstream than me.

Don't overlook salt creek in Lincoln. There are some nice holes especially NW of Lincoln. Lived there for 4 years until 2006. Don't forget about the Platte where it runs into the MO south of Omaha.
