I don't know anything About the Wabash river but here in the Ohio river which is deep in spots and has a pretty good current I use a danfort type anchor with a 10' chain and a 150' of rope on my 25' Carver and a little smaller anchor of the same type but the same amount of chain and rope on my 17' Invader. They both set pretty still and straight when anchored from the bow with a lot of rope out. Hope this helps.

i fish the wabash your gonna want a pretty heavy anchor that can dig in. once the river is down though and the sand bars are all exposed it doesnt take much to hold you. but right now you need a pretty serious anchor. weight i found out only goes so far. i had 30lb wieght from my weight bench and it was just getting drug along the bottom
