Pink Floyd Co-founder Syd Barrett has died.

Im a fan of the band and wish him safe travels and rest to his deserved eternity. His tormented brain ceartainly needed the rest. His illnesses sure took the best of him.

Of course all that acid didnt help much.

Thats sad,I hate to hear that.I'm a big fan of Pink Floyd and in the early years Sid was definitely what made them different.I like Waters better but Sid was definitely different.

That is sad news, love just sitting back and turning everything off in the house and listening to some Pink Floyd. It is a sad day in the music industry.

Yes, some... but I have not bought a CD.

Earlier this year I got David Gilmour's solo debut- its excellent, relaxing stuff. I got that, Steven Stills solo CD and Niel Young's Praire wind all in one shot. It is all fantastic material.

Wonder if they will play welcome my son welcome to the machine at the funeral (not trying to sound mean on this). I love Pink Floyd but that song is haunting which is why I like it also.

Truly a sad day in the music world.

"Come in here dear boy, have a cigar, you're gonna go far. You're gonna fly high, you're never gonna die, you're gonna make it if you try, they're gonna love you....."

Was sad to hear, he was definately a differnt fish. But IMO Wish You Were Here and the music that followed is much better than when Syd was an active member.
