I was out today and noticed reeds at a shallow end of the lake. It was a nice calm area, and I figured there just had to be a cat stuffed up in there. The problem was the water level had to only be around 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 feet deep. If you were going to fish there, what type of rig would you use or would there even be anything in that shallow of water?

YES, there are fish in there, especially around dark and the first few hours after that. There are probably tons of bream in there, and that means the cats will head in there to feed.

I anchor up in the evenings within casting distance of these places and cast into them with a basic bottom rig, i.e hook-leader-swivel/sinker on main line.

For that deep of water, I would just use a bobber rig.
