I grew up north of Stuttgart. If it's cloudy hunt the fields, If the suns shining i like the timber. Had rather shoot one greenhead in the timber than a sack full out of a pit or cane blind stuck up in a field. Where are ya huntin?

Where we hunt in Texas all I have ever hunted was rice fields the last 8 years and as such never seen a duck!!! In those years ducks will not come to a dry rice field. People who flood there rice fields have tons of ducks and geese and they usually develop into a roost.

Keep em both open as options, do your scouting watch that weather then decide. If I had to choose before the season opened, like having to pic a place to hunt, it would be the flooded timber hands down. Just my 2 cents.
